You might have read our last blog post about the ‘Best Selling Cars of 2021 – January – November 2021’. We weren’t expecting the results from December to change the top 10 so much but there have been quite a few new additions to the list! Check out the ACTUAL Best Selling New Cars of 2021.
10. Toyota Yaris - 27,415
Decembers sales figures have secured the Toyota Yaris a spot in the top 10, knocking the BMW 3 Series and the Ford Fiesta from the list. It is likely the Toyota GR Yaris has made the Yaris a more appealing car.
9. Kia Sportage - 27,611
The Sportage is a great family SUV and comes with lots of kit as standard.
Unfortunately for Kia the new Sportage hasn’t helped them overtake the Nissan Qashqai to end 2021.
8. Ford Puma - 28,697
The revival of the Puma as an SUV Crossover was a controversial decision by Ford, but it seems to have paid off. The Ford Puma has a range of innovative features designed to improve your driving pleasure and is very practical.
7. Nissan Qashqai - 29,922
Back in February of 2021, Nissan unveiled the third-generation Qashqai. The new Qashqai has a bold stance, sharp LED lighting and optional massive 20-inch alloy wheels. In the month of December over 2000 New Qashqais were registered!
6. Volkswagen Golf - 30,240
It’s likely the Golf lack of electric option, thanks to the Volkswagen ID.3 is why it’s taking 6th place.
The Volkswagen Golf hasn’t acclaimed iconic status for any old reason, it’s refined, spacious, has an excellent cabin quality and comes in a range of great engines.
5. Volkswagen Polo - 30,634
The Polo has risen above its bigger sibling the Golf for the first time in years.
2021 was a big year for Volkswagen, for the first time on record Volkswagen was the most popular new car brand in the UK.
4. Mercedes-Benz a-Class - 30,710
The A-Class was the best selling premium car in 2020 so its no surprise to see it in the top spots of 2021. The A Class is packed with technology which has made it safer, more advanced, more convenient and more desirable!
The Plug-in Hybrid A-Class proves to be especially popular coming in second place for the ‘Best Selling Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles’ for 2021 with 6,495 units.
3. Mini - 31,792
Mini had a stellar December selling 4625 units taking them up 4 places to being the 3rd best selling new car.
The Mini is available in either a three-door, a five-door or the Mini Electric, despite the Minis different styles it still retains its nimble handling and renowned go-kart feeling.
2. Tesla Model 3 - 34,783
9,612 sales in December alone has helped the Model 3 make an appearance in the top 10. The Tesla Model 3 is the most popular EV in the UK, selling 22,000 units more than its closest competitor the Kia e-Niro.
1. Vauxhall Corsa - 40,914
Retaining the top sport and officially the Best Selling New Car of 2021 is the Vauxhall Corsa. Selling over 6,000 more units than its closest competitor, the new generation of the Corsa has secured Vauxhall the top spot in 2021!
